Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie suspended indefinitely

He was a key figure in the Giants becoming one of the NFL's best defensive teams in 2016, however, as the two-time Pro Bowler led the team with six interceptions.

After being told he would be inactive for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, New York Giants cornerback Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie left the team's facility Wednesday and thus was suspended by the team.

Rodgers-Cromartie was suspended by coach Ben McAdoo after leaving the facility on Wednesday. The suspension is without pay for an indefinite period. Rodgers-Cromartie was being disciplined for his actions during the second half of last Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Chargers when he left the bench area briefly and, according to Rodgers-Cromartie's comments to an ESPN reporter, had an argument with McAdoo on the sideline.

Under the collective bargaining agreement Rodgers-Cromartie can be suspended up to four weeks.

McAdoo is now not scheduled to speak with the media Thursday after practice, but requests have been made for that to change. At least Rodgers-Cromartie went to his coach and told him in person.

"DRC came in yesterday". We had a conversation that was personal upstairs and he came in [Wednesday].

McAdoo said his team had a great practice Wednesday when asked about the possibility of losing the team's confidence in him. So he left and now the Giants are suspending him. Rodgers-Cromartie was in the locker room with the rest of his teammates as they reported for work.

Rodgers-Cromartie was fourth on the team with 26 tackles.

"I think the leaders on this team, they're not going to let anything like that happen", Apple said.
