Allegri slams Juventus poor defending against Barcelona — Angry boss

Ernesto Valverde has won his first Champions League game at the Nou Camp after his side demolished last season's beaten finalists Juventus by 3-0.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri admitted that Lionel Messi is simply "unstoppable" after his team's 3-0 Champions League opening loss to Barcelona on Tuesday.

Here's his first goal that came just on the stroke of half-time as he played a neat one-two with Luis Suarez before firing into the bottom corner.

That damaging defeat, allied with a tumultuous summer in which Neymar moved to Paris Saint-Germain, top targets like Marco Verratti and Philippe Coutinho were not signed and it also emerged that Messi had not put the final signature onto the contract agreement announced by Barca in July, brought much doom and gloom.

"Obviously they have this player who can change every game but we had to do better in the second half". Watch this space for live updates and scores of the first Champions League match of the season.

"For me, Barcelona are still the best club around today", Allegri told press at the pre-match news conference.

20-year-old France forward helped in Messi's goal on a counterattack that caught Juventus' defence off-guard.

You wait ages for one and then suddenly two come along at once.

Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring on 35 minutes before Romelo Lukaku added a goal just after halftime and Marcus Rashford completed the rout in the 84th minute. "The most difficult thing here is to cope with the rhythm and intensity they play with and, of course, with the support they have", PSG coach Unai Emery said.

Barcelona's next game comes away to Sporting Lisbon while Juventus entertain Olympiacos in their match day 2 clash. "He attacks teams, causes havoc, and is a genius at work".

A good night for Barca was rounded off by club record signing Ousmane Dembele making his debut and setting up Suarez's goal, although fans still expressed their anger at club President Josep Maria Bartomeu by calling for him to resign and signing papers asking for a censure motion against him. Juan Cuadrado was suspended.
